Jim Scherrer - Real Estate

He was a co-founder of a Houston based manufacturers' representative firm almost 30 years ago which continues to thrive as an ongoing concern. Prof. German Estrada - Mexico Magico

Dave Gutknecht - The Iguana Chronicles
Dave once a long time resident of Chicago now lives in Mismaloya with his wife, Susie, and their cats, Smoky and Bandit. He holds a degree in engineering and spent many years consulting on manufacturing systems but he is now happily retired. He’s fascinated with his new home, its people, flora, fauna, geology, and history.
 
His writing is somewhat eclectic and when asked how he selects a subject he answered, “I don’t choose subject. The subject chooses me. I have little choice matter and after the subject selects me the story pretty much writes itself.”

Florelisa Hernández
Florelisa is an Art Restorer graduated from the ENCRyM- INAH (Mexico), a Certified Interpretive Guide by the NAI, (US), she also held challenging positions in the Cultural Sector of Mexico. Upon her arrival to Banderas Bay, over 10 years ago, she became a self made public relations person, with a deep interest in marketing, writing, customer service and culture.

With more than 20 years of experience in the journalistic environment, and 10 in local media, she developed a freelance career in the marketing industry of PV.
A nature lover, she is very curious and believes everyone has an interesting story to tell, her ample experience in customer service, journalistic background and attention to detail, has made her to succeed in every venture she has taken in her hands.

She is also compromised with the culture of Mexico and has made her goal to spread it between local and foreign publics as well. She offers her freelance services of public relations, private inspections and reviews of services, product & speech writer and translator.

Lilianne Fuller 
Lilianne FullerA freelance writer who absolutely loves Mexico. She discovered the Rincon de Guayabitos area and describes it as the best place on earth. Specializing in media releases and travel stories, she also writes advertorials for local businesses during the time when she cannot be in Mexico. Rubén Cham - Art Shore & Binnacle of Images
Rubén Cham (Guadalajara 1961) has been contributor, since 1986, of  the newspapers El Heraldo de Tijuana, Siglo XXI and El Informador, in Guadalajara. Texts of his responsibility have been published in the Edmundo’s Valadez magazine El Cuento.  Participated in the Elías Nandino and Juan José Arreola literary workshops in Guadalajara as well as in Imagen, in Tijuana, BC. In Puerto Vallarta, where he resides from 1997, is a permanent contributor of Bay Vallarta and producer and conductor of "epigramma" in the Cultural Radio. Member of the First Program of Artists Scholarship holders of Jalisco, Consejo Estatal de la Cultura y las Artes (1992) and winner of the National Prize of Literature Juan Rulfo 1989. Has published the volume of short-stories "Con el color de la luna", included in the anthology: Biblioteca de Escritores Jaliscienses and the collections of poetic prose "Arcanos" "Monomanías", and "Desvaríos". Currently, Rubén Cham is the Municipal Literature Workshop director.

Federico León de la Vega - Artist Adventures
Born in Mexico City, Federico's artistic career stemmed from his profession in Design and Architecture. He has shown in several well-known galleries in Mexico, New York, Miami and San Diego. In 2000 he stablish his studio in Nuevo Vallarta. Today Federico surveys the water from his studio-café in Nuevo Vallarta, where he paints and displays his work.

Eduardo Rincón-Gallardo

After a career in the hospitality industry and opening his own local tour company in Puerto Vallarta. Eduardo has evolved into outdoors and ecological activities featuring the natural and cultural wealth of the Bay of Banderas and surroundings. Fluent in Spanish, English, French and German.

Eduardo has been helping visitors make the best of their stay arranging for air, land and sea excursions like sailing, snorkeling, horseback and all-terrain vehicle sierra treks, whale watching, bird watching, turtle and crocodile camps and custom-made trips to culturally rich towns. A watersports hobbyist who frolics in sailing and slalom, he is also an amateur poet, musician, peace activist and an obsessive lover of the Bay of Banderas. Eduardo combines his outdoors activities with ecologically-friendly real estate counseling and as a wine merchant.

John Van Dyke – Exploring The Sout
John Van DykeHeaded a design and digital media company based in Seattle, Washington U.S.A. His work for a diversified range of clients is widely recognized as groundbreaking. Van Dyke frequently lectured on the subject of design and photography. He also taught senior level design at the University of Washington School of Art. Van Dyke currently resides in El Tuito and is working on projects in the south.

Oscar Aranda Mena – Natural Encounter
Biologist specialized in marine life. Has been in PV since 1998. Is Founder/Director of the Western Ecological Society, a non-profit organization dedicated mostly to protect marine turtles during summer and whale watching activities during winter. In between these activities, Oscar has written many educational articles, children’s stories and carried out educational activities, and has also participated in documentaries and reports about marine turtles and their conservation, using his free time to learn more about nature, doing his own researching.

Oscar believes in the love for nature, and many of the reasons people doesn’t respect nature is just because they haven’t realized how important is for our life and how complex is it. He has found that marine turtles can change minds, and is continuously trying to local people and hotels get involved in his project. He is concern about the uncontrolled fast-growing of the city and loss of habitats. He says that we have to change minds, but we have to start with ourselves.

Petr Myska - Bird of the month
Zoologist - Conservationist and photographer, M. Sc. in Environmental Protection and M. Sc. in Ecology and Animal Behavior. He has lived in Mexico for last 7 years, last 4 years as a resident to Puerto Vallarta.
His efforts are focused on educating about Mexico’s immense and beautiful biodiversity in order to create strong awareness of the importance of its conservation. He believes firmly that to preserve our natural resources, we first have to know them well. Therefore five years ago he founded the Free Online Encyclopedia of Mexico’s Biodiversity, a project which is constantly growing, attracting thousands of visitors every day. In addition to this project, he publishes articles and reports in national and international magazines and has worked as a correspondent for the BBC. His work regarding the Banderas Bay area includes the first photographic field guide to the region’s birds.

Peter Gray - Various
Peter Gray retired to Puerto Vallarta 10 years ago. He is an active member of the Navy League and the America-Mexico Foundation that raises funds for scholarships to deserving students who could not otherwise afford to pursue their studies. He is a past president of the Conchas Chinas Residents' Association and recently he has been named to the Consejo de Cultura of our local University (CUC) where he has undertaken the task of creating a permanent art gallery for the benefit of its four thousand students. Since arriving in Vallarta, he has written two books. One of them, "Advertising & the Ignorant Savages", is required reading in several U.S. colleges. He is also a painter and prints of his "Pidiendo Posada" are on sale around town for the benefit of the Becas foundation (over 400 of them have been sold to date.) Peter also wants his readers to know that he is "a pretty good cook too"!
